Presenter Ed McCabe

Ed McCabe started the Ceilidh Club (www.ceilidhclub.com) in 1998 which has become one of London's longest running dance nights. As well as hosting thousands of people each year the Ceilidh Club promotes all aspects of Scottish culture. This has led to this unique course where whisky meets entertainment. Ed has appeared in several shows in the Edinburgh Fringe. One of them almost made a profit.

Historian / TV Presenter Alistair Heather

Alistair Heather is a historian and TV presenter. He is passionately interested in the promotion of the Scots' language. He covers whisky smuggling and illicit distilling on the course.

  • Do you cover all the regions making whisky?

    Yes, we taste a whisky from each region.

  • Do I have to buy lots of bottles of whisky to enjoy the course?

    Well it's a good excuse....however you don't have to buy full bottles. We have devised the whisky tasting so that you can using miniatures.

  • How long is the course?

    It's about 4-5 hours, but we keep developing it and adding more content.

  • What will I get out of the course?

    Lots is the short answer. You will have a great knowledge of Scotch Malt Whisky. You'll be able to make better choices and have more confidence when ordering a malt. You'll also find out about the culture from which whisky springs. As part of our network you'll be able to meet other cool, friendly, nice people who love malt too!
